Polka Dots began as a small boutique in Kolkata, built on the founder's lifelong passion for Indian textiles. What started as a personal collection of handloom sarees grew into a mission — to bring the finest weaves of India directly to women who value authenticity over mass production.
Amayaa, meaning “one without blemish” in Sanskrit, reflects our commitment to purity — of craft, of origin, and of purpose. Every saree we carry has been handpicked, verified for authenticity, and sourced with respect for the weaver communities that created it.
Our Philosophy
Why Handloom Matters
India's handloom sector employs over 35 lakh weavers — the second largest workforce in the country after agriculture. Yet handloom sarees account for a shrinking share of the market, displaced by power loom imitations that look similar but carry none of the craft.
At Amayaa, every purchase directly supports a weaver family. We pay fair prices, make advance purchases to reduce weaver risk, and document the origin story of every saree we sell. When you buy from us, you are not just wearing a saree — you are sustaining a tradition.
